I'm a teacher and so I feel like I am suitably equipped for this new phase of homeschooling. But I have other friends who would genuinely prefer to have their eyelashes plucked out than face a whole day of kids and with the added burden/expectation of 'educating' them. I see you, Mumma! So I wanted to share some resources - very simple ones - that I will be using with my kids over the coming weeks. I plan to update these each week with different activities so that we can keep it interesting. Feel free to download and use.

Instructions :

1. Print off a planner and activity sheet - you might want to laminate them if you are able.

2. Cut all of the activities out.

3. Using blutack, place a two/three activities in the different sections of the day. This can either be done by you or you can let your children plan their day (you might want to give them some 'essential' activities that they have to include)

4. Change it up each day so that the kids can look forward to things being fresh and interesting... and you can also not go bonkers and feel like you are living groundhog day!

DAILY PLANNER

This planner can be used as you please. Don't fill each section up completely as we need to let our kids have some down time and free play. You may choose to only use two of these sections, or even one, as intentional learning time so that you can ease your kids (read: YOU) into this new way of life. Keep it fun as you start off - even using a bell/alarm to indicate when a section is finished. Maybe there is a special snack to have when doing focused activities, or a morning hot chocolate that you have together when you talk through the day ahead. Make it fun, special, unique for your family! You might want to have a shared planner for all of your kids, or individualised planners depending on the age and stage of your children.

ACTIVITIES

These are just a random ideas that I thought of while I was putting these resources together. You may have specific school curriculum that you need to cover so you can easily supplement that in when required. But don't forget, let kids your be kids and have a good holiday break first before launching into a full school schedule!! Having said this, I still use a planner during the holidays (especially when we are stuck at home) as kids like predictability and an understanding of what the day will hold. I will update these each week so we can keep it interesting and you will end up collating your own little library of activities.

Keep it simple and it's all going to be okay. We are all in this together!
